1.
Barnyard 02:23
A miscommunication bends and breaks a lifelong spell. The distance eats away at us, wiping us out. There’s nothing I can do. It’s wearing me down. And I can’t see past the light and we’re burning up. I’ll never know your name.
2.
I watched you fall face first to the ground, breaking all the teeth in your mouth. Covered up like everyone else. How can I take you seriously when you build a house of lies and you keep me locked inside? I know you better now, and that’s what I regret. Remember when you bought your friends? It never fails to impress me. Coming and going. Coming and going. It never fails to impress me. Remember when you bought your friends? It never fails to impress me. Coming and going. Coming and going. It never fails to impress me at all. I’m soaked in question everyday. Don’t wait around for me again. I’m not running to your side. I’m not calling you a friend. Change your ways or change your mind. So make yourself out to be who you’re not. Take big strides and show me what you’ve got.
3.
We’re all drowning slowly in the air we breathe. But tonight, the air’s much thicker. The moment was inevitable when you’d push me into the water. I’m struggling to catch my breath at the will of your hands. Rip me away. Don’t waste your time growing old with us. Chicago’s not so big anymore. I’m dying for the days when you’d rip me away. Chicago’s not so big anymore. Somedays it gets better, and I know it gets worse. But I’m breathing in this poison, and one day I’ll die of course. Mouths used for speaking, hands meant for shaking. And what they all promised me is what the world keeps on taking. Hop on a train, and take me away. Cause it can’t get much better than this.
4.
Are we all holding back the monsters that we become? Or is it fate that keeps us in line? We make mistake after mistake but manage to find a light spot. Don’t think that there’s another plan, cause this is the way things are. Don’t fight the present to live in the past. Just open your eyes. And then it’s taken away. I’m flailing into sleep. We’re all at odds with anything. I know no one’s wrong, but what do we do now?
